Moree Veterinary Hospital Staff

       Dr Charles Bunce

Charlie was raised mainly in Inverell before doing his secondary schooling in Armidale & veterinary degree in Sydney (1970-74).

He spent the first few years of practice in Busselton & Perth, WA. He and Wendy settled in Moree in late 1977 and founded the Gwydir Veterinary Clinic in February 1978. This has gradually expanded to become the present Moree Veterinary Hospital.

Charlie has always tried to service the full range of animal species we see in Moree, and maintains that being a GP in these circumstances is as difficult as any specialty. He has a varied collection of animals, including cats, dogs, horses, and cattle

         Dr J David Hunter

David graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989 and moved to Moree in January 1990. After 4 years in Moree David travelled and worked in the UK before returning to Moree and becoming a partner in Moree Veterinary Hospital Pty Ltd in January 2000.

David is married to Kate and has 3 beautiful daughters Bridie, Dimity and Sophie.

David enjoys all aspects of rural veterinary practice and has a particular interest in small animal surgery and small animal reproduction. Away from work David enjoys cycling and spending time at home with his family.

       Fiona Hynes

 Cert IV VN

Fiona has been a part of the MVH team since 2006. She became a qualified veterinary nurse in 2007 and also completed her grooming course.
After having her daughter Ruby in May 2014 she scaled back her work commitments and returned back to work as a receptionist 3 days a week. Fee then welcomed her second daughter Ava in December 2016 and after a short break has returned back to reception duites 2 days a week.
She really loves working with the animals, and is finding the customer service and administration side of the hospital a fun new challenge.
Fiona has lived in the Moree area her entire life. From a young age she has ridden horses and has always had a love for animals. At home she lives with her husband John, daughter's Ruby & Ava, their two dogs 'Tess' & 'Missy', two cats 'Summer' & 'Chelsea' and three horses.

       Maria Morton

Maria joined the team as a part-time receptionist in August 2010 with the move to the new hospital.

The Mortons have only been in Moree for a few years, moving from Coffs Harbour area where Maria also worked in a veterinary hospital.

They brought with them a varied collection of animals, but Maria’s main interest has always been in horses.

    Melanie Williams
    Receptionist & Veterinary Nurse

Mel rejoined the MVH team in August 2018 and will be undertaking both Reception and Nursing rolls, we are pleased to have her back.

        Emma Botfield

Veterinary Nurse

Em joined the MVH team in January 2017 as both a Veterinary Nurse and Receptionist. She as become a very handy full time member of staff swaping from nursing to reception with ease.
She is currently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Whilst she is passionate about her veterinary nursing and caring for animals, her main passion has always been horses. She competes on her beloved horse Norton in the showjumping ring as often as she gets the chance.

Update:During her routine morning ride on her beloved Norton on 20th July 2017 she had an unexpected fall and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. Em was wearing her helmet as she does for every ride. She is currently home and recovering but still undergoing rehabilitation. We wish her nothing but the best for a speedy recovery and can not wait to have her back on deck when she is ready.

Update #2: Em has done so well with her recovery and returned back to work in November 2017, we are so pleased to have her back at work and are so proud of how far she has come in such a short time.

        Carly Creighton

Ash grew up riding horses and caring for a variety of animals, so becoming a veterinary nurse has been a passion of hers since she was a little girl. She put her career on hold when she welcomed her little girl Eva into the world and is now enjoying being a mum and once again pursuing her dream to be a Veterinary Nurse.

At home she has 4 dogs Spotty, Zeusy, Chief and Luna and a cat called Rito. When she is not at work she loves going camping, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
